History
Nestled high in the mountains of Ilsabard there was a small village of Horthgar. Bozjans all who fled the turmoil and class strife in the cities. In this village commune all worked together in their harsh climate to thrive against the odds. It’s here a young man with dark fur is born; a rarity among his snowy furred kin. Though he was shunned by his fellow children for being different, he had the care and love of two strong parents. A retired soldier who’d fought for his country and a tradeswoman of some renown during her time in the cities. The family thrived for years as the boy slowly grew into his own, learning to defend himself with his father’s gunblade; while he learned to craft from his mother.
However all good things are never meant to last, on one dark morning while the villiage slept the tide came. Bullets crested the hills as grenades were tossed to and fro as Garlean troops stormed into the once lonely town. Buildings burned as men and women fruitlessly defending themselves from the unstoppable wave of destruction. The boy had to watch from within a patch of snow as one by one those he knew and loved were cut down or taken into custody by the Imperials. However try as he might to hide, the boy was found as his grey fur stuck out in the pure white snow.
Conscripted by the Imperials, the boy was taken to the heart of the empire and forced to live a life he was unprepared for. He struggled for years in crowded orphanages filled with other victims of subjugation. The years passed as he was constantly bullied and belittled for being a beast among children who’d never known of the Hrothgar. After a time he finally was old enough to join the Garlean military as a conscripted soldier. It was during his time as a soldier that his luck had ‘turned around’ and things finally looked up for him as the propaganda twisted his perspective. He quickly rose through the ranks as a successful soldier and tactician, with many battles won by his strength and leadership. Things continued to look up for him as he found love within one of his commanding officers, a Garlean woman of noble birth. The two shared a secret romance that spanned two years before she was deployed elsewhere, to Eorzea.
With his heart sick and the truth of his actions hitting home as he charged into battle against the Dalamscans he felt conflicted. Eventually at the first opportunity he and some of the conscripts in his command defected to the resistance where they’d fight against Garlean tyranny. During a salvage operation along the borders of the Golmore he found a dying Viera woman lying surrounded by garlean corpses. While it wasn’t unusual to rescue survivors of Garlean attacks, this woman’s ferocity had caught his eye. He’d kept a close eye on her recovery and did his best to ensure that she wasn’t in much pain. From his constant visits the two had a budding friendship, if it could be called that, and when she’d fully recovered, joined him on the battlefield.
But unfortunately, the fight was not one the Resistance had any hope of winning. As rumors came in of a new Garlean superweapon came in, the man’s will wavered. Instead of staying to die, he and his Viera companion left the front and took a boat west to Eorzea, to her great displeasure. Once the pair arrived in the new lands, they sought out a new life for themselves. Being a pair that only knew a life of fighting, they took to mercenary work. And yet they’d never stay in one place for too long, traveling between the city states on a nigh monthly basis as to ensure their notoriety never rose to troublesome heights.
One night however, in the Adventurer’s Guild of Ul’dah while having a few beers a small Xaela woman approached him with a business offer. Provide security for the construction of an inn nestled among the trees of the Twelveswood. Hesitant to accept the job he made no promises to her. But after careful consideration he decided to travel to the site and see just what this woman had in store. Though his companion joined him on the travel to the Twelveswood, it was there that their paths diverted for a time; her wanderlust conflicting with his acceptance of the long-term job.
A year had passed since first taking the woman’s job, and his contract was over as the final nail was struck on the inn. However that year of peace had changed the man, and as the woman offered him a permanent position as chief of security of the inn, he spared no thoughts on declining. It’s here that the man lives and works to this day.
Companions
Shivara Sajjan: Most Trusted Comrade
First met in Dalmasca during his time with the resistance. They fled together when the fighting became hopeless. Their years of adventuring and fighting has built a strong bond between the two of them. There are few in this world that he'd trust more than Shivara with his life.
Uteki Ejinn: Employer and Close Friend
Uteki had fortunately found Blahomil up at a time the legitimate bodyguard jobs were drying up. After the initial job, he stayed on to help with the formation of The River's Bend Inn; ultimately becoming an integral member of her staff as head of security. Over the year they spent working side by side with one another they've grown to become close friends and confidants.
Hemithea Potami: This one is a work in progress, but I saw the ending and it's a big fat Bozjan wedding.
